Ill∴ Brother Retires as Grand Master

 

The Valley of Boston congratulates Ill∴ Bro. Harvey J. Waugh, 33°, on the completion of his successful term as the 88th Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts. Most Worshipful Waugh’s term ran from December 27, 2013 to December 27, 2016. Over the course of those three years, M.W. Waugh did a stellar job leading the 28,000 masons and 255 lodges in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

 

Born in Winthrop, MA, Bro. Waugh was raised in Melrose, MA, and was educated in the Melrose school system. In his youth, he was a member of Melrose Chapter Order of DeMolay. He started in line as an Assistant Preceptor for Patriotism and worked his way up the line to Master Councilor of the Chapter. 

 

Valley Man Installed Grand Master

 

The Valley of Boston is pleased to announce that one of our dedicated Brothers has been honored with the rank and honor of Grand Master of Masons in Massachusetts. Brother Paul F. Gleason, 32° MSA, was installed as the 89th Grand Master at the Grand Lodge’s State Communication on December 27, 2016.

 

The Grand Master has two distinct responsibilities. First, he serves as the fraternal leader of the society with several ceremonial privileges reserved for his position.

 

The second primary responsibility of the Grand Master is leading the business of the Grand Lodge, including: Chairman, Grand Lodge Board of Directors; President, Masonic Education & Charitable Trust (MECT); Chairman, Grand Lodge Library and Museum Board of Directors; and, Chairman, Masonic Health System (MHS) Board of Directors.
