Christmas 2015

From the Desk of the Secretary

Season’s Greetings! First let me introduce you to two new men who have assumed roles in the Valley Office since I last wrote you. Brother David W.A. Abbott has moved from Webmaster to Administrative Assistant in the office. Dave brings a knowledge of office procedures and demonstrates a natural ability to help all with whom he comes in contact.  Brother William H.M. Blake, currently the State Master Councilor for Massachusetts DeMolay, is our new Valley Webmaster.  A sophomore at Salem State University, he will maintain the site, provide articles and keep us informed of the happenings in our Valley. When you’re in the building, stop by and introduce yourself to them as I’m sure you will enjoy it.

As are so many others at this season, the Valley of Boston Office is very busy.  The Scottish Rite Office is processing the receipts of the members who are attending to the prompt payment of their 2016 dues.  Thank you! Please know your dues are critical in the operation of your Valley and contribute to the quality programs we enjoy throughout the year.

With that in mind we are fully engaged in preparing for degrees and special events in 2016.   We begin the New Year with Massachusetts Consistory rehearsals for the Lincoln Play being performed on Saturday, January 16th, 2016 in the Valley of Salem. On Sunday, January 31st, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., our Valley Family Life Committee has secured the private use of Boston Bowl. This subsidized event offers a lot of fun for the entire family at a great price. Visit the Valley webpage www.scottishriteboston.org  for more details.

Then, rehearsals for both the Feast of the Pascal Lamb by Mt. Olivet Chapter of Rose Croix on Palm Sunday, and the Valley Spring Class begin.  Our Spring Class reunion is a two part event. On Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th, Boston Lafayette Lodge of Perfection, our own Valley Bodies and other Valleys from the Northeast will present all Perfection degrees,  4° to 14°. Then on Saturday, May 7th, 2016, Council, Chapter and Consistory will present their degrees to complete the spring reunion. These programs and degrees are just the beginning of many events scheduled for 2016.  We’ll keep you informed so check back often.

For now, enjoy the mild weather, the songs of the season, and extend “good will towards all”.

                                                                             Cordially and fraternally,
